How to Utilize Content on Multiple Social Media Channels

If you want increase your brand awareness online, as an agriculture business owner you need to strategize. First, you need to choose one topic or idea. This could be related to sales, something you want to teach, behind the scenes, etc. Use this one idea to create one piece of content for every platform. You can share content on each platform all on the same day or spread it out throughout the week. Don't just copy and paste, change the content slightly to fit each platform!


Facebook

Use graphics that are eye catching with few words or photos that include people (aka family or employees). Livestock and landscape also make great photos for content. 1200 x 630 (link pixels or 1200 x 1200 pixels are recommended sizes for graphics. Mix in photos and videos for content to obtain further reach. Facebook is a great platform to share links. Utilize 0 - 3 hashtags that are relevant to what you're sharing. It's important to stay focused on your goal, but if you add your personality to your posts, people are more likely to interact and share.


Instagram Share your one idea via graphics, reels, stories or on live. There's not a perfect number of hashtags, but it's important to utilize relatable hashtags. 1080 x 1080 pixels is the recommended size for graphics on Instagram. Now Instagram allows you to add music to posts or animate a graphic. These both help increase reach online. Share links via your story instead of in your caption and add to your highlights to make your content more accessible.


LinkedIn LinkedIn is a more professional platform. You can still piggyback off of your idea, it just needs to be more formal. Utilize a few relatable hashtags that will help reach your ideal audience. 1200 x 627 pixels is the recommended size for graphics. LinkedIn is a good platform to share links that help educate your followers. Really focus on business education and networking with other professionals.


Blogs Blogs are a great way to increase brand awareness online. The great thing about blogs, is that you don't need to be an english major. You just need to be the expert on what you're sharing about. Is it helpful to add a professional to help with SEO? Absolutely. But don't let that stop you from starting. Take the idea that you started with and determine how to help or inform your audience and allow yourself to write. General Tips

Since online platforms have different algorithms, it's important to change up the size of your graphics and the captions. Being online isn't the end all be all of a business in agriculture. Face to face is still a very important strategy. But, in 2022 about 75% of consumers shop online at least once a month. So, if you want to increase your brand awareness across the U.S., an online presence should be part of your marketing strategy.
