The Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas is one of the leading hotels in Nevada, Las Vegas. The Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas is comparatively less expensive than the other lavish hotels of Las Vegas being offered by the trade show housing service. The hotel is owned by the Tropicana Las Vegas hotel and resort inc. and the hotel has over 1,658 rooms and is next to a 50,000 square ft casino as well as a 100,000 sq ft exhibition & convention space.

The location of the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas is in the boulevard intersection which has the most number of hotel rooms in an intersection in the world and it is one of the busiest as well. Normally pedestrians there are not allowed to cross the streets at the ground level, because of this the Tropicana Las Vegas is joined by an overhead pedestrian bridge which makes a path for the pedestrians to the Tropicana casinos, to the north of Tropicana Avenue, MGM Grand Las Vegas, and to the west where there is Excalibur.

The original one which addresses the Garden Room Wings was erected in 1957, the addition of the Paradise Tower with 22 levels of guest rooms was done in 1979 also the Tiffany Tower was done in the same year which is next to the Tropicana’s Tiffany Theatre. Next is the Island tower with 21 levels built in 1986. While in May 2006 Tropicana Las Vegas was taken by the Tropicana Resort and Casino Las Vegas for $ 2.1 billion from the then previously owned Aztar Corporation. In May 2009 it was reported that Onex which is a Canadian Investment firm will take over control of the Tropicana Resort and Casino from the Tropicana Entertainment LLC.

There are always many expansion programs going on in the Tropicana Las Vegas in the recent years. In 2006 the previous owners stated that they plan a $ 2 billion renovation scheme which would be due to be done by 2010 in order to make the Tropicana the largest casino resort across the globe, as there would be no demolition of the standing buildings, the Paradise and Tiffany Towers would received some required or extra interior renovations and also 4 new towers were due to be built in the existing property.

The expansion plans included a 100,000 sq ft casino, 5 hotel towers including 10,000 rooms and an interior retail esplanade. Other entertainment amenities were also in the plan like spas, fitness centers, 20 restaurants and lounges, and a 1500 seated Entertainment venue. All were on a hold with the ongoing recessions in the region and Tropicana Entertainment’s bankruptcy case. But the new CEO of Tropicana Las Vegas Alex Yemenidjian reopened the plans in August 2009 to renovate the Tropicana in a South beach style plan, again they are still underway & constructed in phases which was due to be completed in April 2011. So if you are planning a visit to Las Vegas then check in the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas.

Tropicana Las Vegas has been a landmark for more than 50 years on the Las Vegas Strip. Rich with history, the hotel originally opened in 1957. Now, the Tropicana has adopted a new South Beach theme and is undergoing a major facelift.

With minimal impact on guests, the entire edifice is being renovated in a three-phase construction plan. Phase one of construction on the $165 million project is set to be complete in spring 2011. Included in this first set of renovations is the 50,000-square-foot casino which will now feature marble tiling, new chairs at the slot machines, new carpet and a revamped tropical South Beach decor.

The recently refurbished Paradise Tower boasts 500 renovated rooms that boast 42-inch plasma television set, iPod dock and updated décor with interesting touches like plantation shutters on the windows. There is even a vanilla-coconut-like tropical scent wafting through the hallways to appeal to guests’ senses and impart a tropical feel.

Numerous other changes are planned for the hotel in the upcoming months.

In the fall of 2010, the hotel will open a remodeled race and sports book area that will feature skyboxes and multiple big-screen televisions. Also coming in fall 2010 will be a renovated spa and salon, plus a fitness center with all of the latest cardio equipment.

In late December 2010, the Tropicana remembers its historic Las Vegas roots by opening the Las Vegas Mob Experience. The attraction will feature the largest collection of authentic artifacts, memorabilia, photos and videos of organized crime ever assembled.

Set to open in spring 2011, Nikki Beach will offer guests a conceptual pool experience with daybeds, crisp white linens and a South Beach-like vibe. At night, it will turn into Club Nikki, a 15,000-square-foot club with dancing and doors opening out onto the beach. The current Tropicana pool features lush tropical landscaping, a shaded area, swim-up blackjack on the weekends and a grassy area perfect for laying out in the sun or lounging under a tree.

Guests can enjoy several dining choices including Bacio Pasta & Vino, the Italian restaurant at the Tropicana, featuring pizzas, calzones, pastas and more and Legends Steakhouse. Opening in summer 2010, Ambhar, located off the main casino floor, will be the go-to spot for classic cocktails like Caipirinhas and margaritas crafted from Ambhar Platinum tequila.

Live entertainment is located in the Tiffany Theater, where artists like Comedian Paul Rodriguez perform. There is also the Cellar, where Hypnosis Unleashed stages their comedic act nightly. Additionally, the Brad Garrett Comedy Club features top comedians like Kevin Nealon, Rondell Sheridan and occasionally Garrett himself.

If you’re in town for a conference, the Tropicana offers more than 100,000 square feet of conference space, featuring state-of-the-art technology that will make your conference or special event sail smoothly.
