The most exciting addition of the Las Vegas Stratosphere thrill ride family is the Skyjump, where visitors can jump off of the Stratosphere Tower of Las Vegas and alight unharmed on the ground below. The technical name for the attraction is “commercial decelerator,” and it is now the highest one in the world, garnering a Guinness world record for the Stratosphere. Skyjumpers are dressed in bright, strap-covered jumpsuits, hooked up to a long cable, escorted to the edge of a 855-ft high platform, and told to jump when ready.

The Skyjump experience of Las Vegas starts downstairs, in the retail level of the Stratosphere hotel. Tickets for the Skyjump are generally purchased separately fromInsanity, Excream, and Big Shot tickets. That’s because this exciting Las Vegas Stratosphere ride costs $99.00 and requires a whole outfit change, a safety talk, and a signed waiver. An entire shopping unit in the Stratosphere’s mall has been converted into a skyjump store, ticket booth, and re-entry point.

After suiting up, guests are escorted to the Las Vegas Stratosphere Skyjump takeoff point on level 108. Here, within the glass-enclosed booth, they’ll be hooked first to a safety rope, then to the Skyjump itself. They’ll be positioned between the two fixed guide cables that stretch to the ground far below, one on either side of a giant bulls-eye that is the landing pad. The actual weight-bearing cable that Skyjumpers will rely on to control their descent dangles directly over the bulls-eye, and is connected to a complicated set of pullies and spools that cause the deceleration.

The safety talk happens on the edge of the platform, with toes dangling over the lip and strongwinds battering the brave riders. After a brief discussion of what not to do, a rider is left on their own to jump… or to stand there indecisively until the derision of their friends overcomes all fear.

Once off the platform, things happen slowly. There is no free fall; the decelerator kicks in immediately and brings Skyjumpers to an even 40 miles per hour. The fall to the bottom takes around thirteen seconds, which seems like a lot of time with a pounding heart and a rising scream. It’s enough time to adjust body position, scan the Strip, shout at friends, wave at the diners in the Top of the World, and realize that the first step was the most frightening thing about the thrill ride of Las Vegas.

If you have some cash burning a hole in your pocket and you are looking for the one adventure in Las Vegas that is unlike anything you have ever imagined, Zero G might be able to solve that for you. If you grew up dreaming of one day defying gravity or bouncing across the lunar landscape this Las Vegas attraction will satisfy those requirements.

What is Zero G in Las Vegas?

Do you need to defy gravity? Do want to feel as if you weigh absolutely nothing?
Zero Gravity Corporation is FAA approved and is the only commercial opportunity for you to experience true weightlessness. You will get into a jet and head into the clouds where your adventure awaits. How does it work? According to Zero G, this is how they do it: “Specially trained pilots fly the parabolic flight maneuvers between approximately 24,000 and 32,000 feet altitude. The maneuver is somewhat like a roller coaster in that the plane is initially pulled up to approximately 45 degrees “nose high.” Next the plane is gently “pushed over” the top to begin the zero-gravity segment of the parabolas. For the next 30 seconds everything in the plane is weightless. At approximately 30 degrees “nose low,” a gentle pull-out is started which allows the participants to stabilize on the aircraft floor. Finally, the g-force is increased smoothly to about 1.8 g’s until the aircraft reaches a flight altitude of 24,000 feet. The maneuver is then repeated.”

What can you expect from Zero G in Las Vegas?

ZERO G

Flights take off from Signature Air Terminal at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas and minutes from the Las Vegas Strip your Zero G adventure begins.

The people at Zero G take care of you all the way through the process of going weightless. They train you, they assist you while flying and they even do all the camera work so that you are set to have all the fun you can take and have a real record of your time going weightless with Zero G.

What does Zero G cost?

ZERO G

The ZERO-G Experience, which includes training led by a professional astronaut, a flight of 15 parabolas, flight suit, complimentary merchandise, awards, a post-event party, photos, and a DVD of the flight, is offered at a price of $4,950 per seat.

ZERO-G also offers a Non-Flyer package for $195, which includes a flight suit, backpack tote, socks and wristband, pre-flight refreshments and regravitational celebration.

“With the launch of ZERO-G’s regular flights from Las Vegas, the general public now has convenient access to an incredible adventure that was previously only available to astronauts,” said Dr. Peter H. Diamandis, co-founder of ZERO-G. “Visitors flock to Las Vegas for once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and ZERO-G will deliver on that expectation and then some. ZERO-G is destined become Las Vegas’ greatest attraction for young and old, for anyone who ever wanted to fly like Superman or float like an astronaut.”

This is not your typical flight. From the outside the plane looks normal enough, but inside it’s a different story. The rear of the aircraft houses rows of seats not unlike the ones you squeezed yourself into when you flew into Las Vegas, but the front half is completely empty and lined with a semi-squishy white padding. This is where the magic happens. This is where your average, athletically-challenged, middle-aged man floats by sandwiched into his flight suit telling everyone who’ll listen that he’s Superman.

The funny thing is, for a few seconds, you are a Superman.

The “Superman” portion of the flight isn’t immediate — first there’s the Moon and Mars to conquer. In an effort to get passengers acclimated to shifts in gravity, and ultimately, weightlessness, the first parabola simulates your weight on Mars (one-sixth of your actual weight). The next is your weight on the moon (one-third of your actual weight).

A lot of different things make up the ZERO-G experience — the neat flight suit (which you get to keep), the post-landing “re-gravitation” party, an official certificate proclaiming your accomplishment, the list goes on, but its clear what the real jewel in the weightless experience is — being weightless in ZERO G.

Las Vegas Indoor Skydiving gives you the chance to test your skills of human flight during a single flight session or as a participant in a personalized coaching program. Las Vegas Indoor Skydiving is a popular training resource for sport skydivers, competition teams and military units. Our body flight experience can be your resource for corporate team-building programs and high adventure recreational groups.

Experience the thrill of skydiving without an airplane or parachute. This vertical wind tunnel produces up to 120 mph of wind, enough to lift your body so you can fly! No experience is necessary and this activity is suitable for all ages. The cost of your first experience is $75; this includes your training, all of the necessary equipment and unforgettable flight inside the wind tunnel in Las Vegas. The facility is open from 9:45am to 8pm 7 days a week, training classes begin every 30 minutes. Reservations are available for groups of 5 or more with at least 48 hours notice, otherwise training class registration is first come first served.

WEIGHT GUIDELINES

Male Over 6′0″ 230 lbs. max.

Between 5′6″ & 6′0″ 220 lbs. max.

Male Under 5′6″ 180 lbs. max.

Women Over 6′0″ 200 lbs. max.

Between 5′6″ & 6′0″ 180 lbs. max.

Women Under 5′6″ 160 lbs. max.

No Age Limit – Minimum Weight 40 lbs.

The suggested height and weight restrictions are important. Guests who exceed the maximum weight are not guaranteed to generate enough lift to actually fly. Being outside the weight guidelines is not a safety issue as much as quality of flight. We don’t want to take your money and then not be able to provide a high quality experience. Depending on how someone is built, or if they are really tall, we can sometimes be flexible with the maximums. Why the restrictions are different for men and women? The answer is simply that men and women are built and carry their weight differently. Feel free to contact the venue if you have any further questions.

Things to do:

Dress in comfortable clothes with socks and sneakers.

Things NOT to do In Las Vegas Indoor Skydiving:

More than 30,000 people of different age experience the simulation of a skydiving every year in Las Vegas. They feel the wind touching their bodies at the speed up to 120 mph, and according to their words it makes them totally happy. Indoor skydiving Las Vegas is not just a regular simulation like a 3D movie or a modern video game. It is a part of reality and it is actually not a ride. It is skydiving in Las Vegas and if you try it you will be falling and feeling exactly like a real skydiver.

As the old saying goes ‘the house always wins’ and this is pretty true indeed. In several Las Vegas casinos the Vegas gambling odds are piled up in favor of the house, and while some crafty gamblers may try to buck the system, at the end of the day it is the fat casino owners who are stacked with the profits at their customers’ expense. Professional casino gamblers flourish in Las Vegas because they know how to take down each casino game and they very well understand what the odds are, hence they are careful in evaluating their chances to bring down the risk as much as they can.

Las Vegas Casinos

Here Are Some Tips To Put The Clas Las vegas Casino Odds In Your Favor…

Before you sit down to wager at any of the games, make sure you set yourself a winning goal and a losing limit so that it doesn’t hit you too hard if you lose. This is the simplest rule you must follow when gambling in Las Vegas. When you’re up for a challenge you also need to know when it is time to quit and walk away before you get greedy. You need to also know the time to cut down on your losses and walk away from the game. Go through these terms before you start a game and set a specific bankroll. For instance, if you are planning to wager $100 one evening then don’t spend over that amount. If you’re lucky enough to win back $150 take the money and don’t look back, just keep walking!

Start your game with a small wager! Wagering at a small ratio helps you lessen the burden and damage if the game is not in your favor. Small losses can be handled but not big ones. Start with an affordable coin denomination like $0.25, $0.50, $1 then gradually work your way up if you find yourself winning. Measure the percentage of your stake and stick to it as you progress in the game. If you lose anytime during the game then go back to your original betting amount. It’s always best to bet half of what you are able to lose. If losing $100 isn’t a big deal then you might want to risk $50 instead as it lets you play one more game instead of blowing the whole amount.
In Las Vegas … go with the intention of winning. If you do your homework properly, you odds will be much better. So learn all you can about the casino games. Study the casino games rules, learn the strategies that pros use and bet wisely.

Don’t be a person who walks into any casino and sit down at any random game. It’s best that you know the odds at the Las Vegas casinos. For this you need to take a look at the payout schedules, tables and percentage of payouts to better your chances—Don’t get too drunk on the free alcohol—and most importantly think before you make a bet!

Las Vegas is the most glamorous and extravagant city in America (where most people come to party and to become a casino winner), which first looked like a small railroad town back in 1905. By 1931, casino gambling was fully legalized, and soon followed a mass development in Vegas.

Top Las Vegas Gamble Casino Resorts:

Bellagio -

The stylish decor, wood interiors and excellent upholstery of the Bellagio make it one of the most luxurious gambling in Nevada casinos in Las Vegas. The Bellagio turns away from the glitz and glamour of the usual casino and caters to guests looking for a truly expensive gambling in Las Vegas. Casinos around the Bellagio cannot compare to the three poker rooms, private lounge and high-class sports-booking rooms. Think you can live it up with the pros?

Caesars Palace -

Caesars Palace is one of the most popular casinos in Las Vegas and is truly the place to be if you are looking for a good night of gambling. In Vegas, this casino stands out from the rest with more than 129,000 square feet of casino space that includes video poker games, blackjack tables and Vegas slot machines to for all types of gamblers. The marble columns and arched ceilings give the feeling of a modern day Roman Empire, adding to the fun and excitement of your time in Vegas.

MGM Grand -

The MGM Grand casino is more than just grand – it’s one of the biggest casinos in the world. One of Vegas leading casinos, this place has four-themed gambling space and stretches to more than 171,000 square feet. When the hotel and casino was created, it took 39 rock-hard cars two days to carry in enough money to store at the casino! The Grand is also suitable for families; it has a youth center, number of stores and 33-acre theme park offer children a lot of opportunities for fun as parents enjoy their casino games in Las Vegas.

Rio -

If you’re searching for an affordable casino in Las Vegas, the Rio is your place to go. With affordable table minimums and top quality service and hospitality, Rio is ideal for guests who like to experience gambling in Las Vegas without spending too much. The excitement outside of the casino is also worth the short tour as it is situated right off the Strip. The Masquerade Show in the Sky goes on every night, and the VooDoo lounge dance club operates until the early morning hours. I’m sure many Las Vegas casino secrets get shared there.

The Venetian -

Eat, drink and play the numerous casino games on one of the 2500 slots and video poker machines at the Venetian. It has an Italian Renaissance theme that is known for its exciting activities. Exotic restaurants and dining areas line the outside of the casino, and gondola trips are continuously enjoyed by the guests in the hotel.

Let’s face it, Las Vegas is all about gambling and having fun and it is truly a place to win loads of cash! Get all the Las Vegas gossip and see who’s in town and when next to visit.

Always dreamed on taking a trip to Las Vegas? There are a few things you need to know before you start on making your way to the Strip. These are the 10 most essential tips for new players who want to live it up at Las Vegas.

las vegas

1. Schedule your visit to Las Vegas sometime mid-week. Accommodation rates and tariffs can jump up more than 3-4 times than the normal prices on weekends. With people crowding in at every restaurant, casino or nightclub during these weekends it makes it all the more annoying as you will be standing in long queues to wait for your turn. From my experience the mid-week guests at Las Vegas have loads of cash to spend and have a much better time.

2. Avail a Player’s card! This helps. Spend a few minutes at the casino’s Player’s Club desk and sing up for a membership, if you plan on playing there or not. With this membership in hand, the casino will regularly send you information through email about the discounted rates on rooms or any events for your next visit.

3. The most important advice for gamblers that any pro gambler would give you, is not to lose yourself in Las Vegas! Go with a specific budget in mind and play only with that. Do not lose more than you can afford to.

4. Though slots machines seem like an easy way to play; don’t play them! They swallow up your money and sometimes leave you stranded with no money. Table games offer you a better chance of winning and are more fun to play.

5. Get your comps! The casino usually gives you a casino bonus and rewards on buffets, tickets to any event, and discounts on rooms whenever you play at that casino. Check out with the Player’s Club desk on how to claim your various goodies.

6. Make use of the buses. The ones that take you to the airport or to Stratosphere then to Las Vegas downtown, all this for about a $1. Ride the Deuce for less than a $1 that takes you around the Strip.

7. Don’t try getting a taxi on the Las Vegas Strip, you can get it from outside your hotel. You can share the ride with anyone else who is taking a trip to the casino. It saves money plus its eco-friendly and could meet someone nice on the way.

8. If you feel like a walk then there’s nothing better! It’s only four miles from the start to the end of the Strip and when there’s a lot of traffic, walking is the fastest way to get around. You can walk in and out of the casinos with no hassle.

9. Get half-price tickets to any shows or events. You can get half-price tickets from any of these places on the Strip. At the Riviera, Fashion Show Mall across the Wynn Casino and in the Hawaiian Marketplace across the Monte Carlo or the Four Queens.

10. Keep your winnings! The minute you win big keep it aside and never plan on gambling it; you don’t wanna lose it. If you there to party then use the winnings on club entry fees, chicks, booze, or whatever else tickles your fancy in Las Vegas.

Many gamblers have come across the term Offshore Gambling, but are not entirely sure what it means. A casino that deals with offshore gambling is one that basically operates outside the jurisdiction of a given country or it can be an online casino that has its servers in a country where online gambling is not prohibited. In short, then, it is a casino that operates outside the country of the player.

Offshore gambling provides an easy and fun way to play all the games normally found at a land-based casino, but without the hassle of making the pilgrimage to Las Vegas. Online Las Vegas casinos are very safe, in that personal details are not required to be sent out and the payouts and odds are just as equal and fair as in a regular Las Vegas style casino. Offshore gambling makes it a win-win situation.

Online Las Vegas casinos are regulated by three organizations. These are OSGA (The Offshore Gaming Association), The IGC (Interactive Gaming Council) and the Fidelity Trust Gaming Association (FTGA), which is a smaller IGC in effect, in that it charges lower membership fees.

OSGA and Offshore Gambling:

The OSGA is an independent “watchdog” agency that monitors the Off Shore Sports Gaming Industry in an effort to provide the public an avenue to find reputable companies to wager with. It aims to protect the rights of consumers and they charge no membership fees.

The agency is a professional non-biased third party organization that gives objective opinions, based on your feedback, independent research, phone calls, tips and inside news.

For OSGA they resolved to keeping the philosophy that there are safe places for sports gambling. Because of the climate in the industry today people need to have additional information on offshore sportsbooks and online casinos from an outside source.

IGC and Offshore Gambling:

The IGC, a not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1996 in the US, relocating to Vancouver, Canada, incorporating there in March 2000. The organization was established to provide a forum for interested parties to address issues and advance common interests in the global interactive gaming industry, to establish fair and responsible trade guidelines and practices that enhance consumer confidence in interactive gaming products and services, and to serve as the industry’s public policy advocate and information clearinghouse. The IGC does what it has set out to do, and more.

IGC membership has increased significantly since being founded, drawing more and more attention from noteworthy industry groups to complement existing leading industry players. We have members from the U.S., the U.K., South Africa, Israel, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia, Denmark and Sweden — to mention a few. The IGC has built a reputation for reliability, integrity and credibility through its high standards, and appeal to legitimate businesses. Affiliation with their association ensures that you have a trusted organization fighting for the promotion and enhancement of our industry, fighting for you when you need it and most importantly – with a collective voice.

The IGC regulates offshore gambling by utilizing a special 10-point code of Conduct and charges casinos a fee to display their logo. Unhappy customers can also report their disputes to the IGC.

FTGA: Offshore Gambling:

The FTGA was formed in an effort to set a standard for online gaming operations. The agency believe that by conducting business with only reputable companies, they can form an alliance of the most fair and professional offshore gambling and gaming operations worldwide. To be sure that the companies they support are reputable FTGA do comprehensive background checks on not only the company but the individuals behind the company. According to them, they form a close relationship with their members and monitor their business practices frequently.

With the boom of the internet over the last few years, everything seems to have translated into an online version and offshore gambling has been no different. There are organizations that govern the fairness of online gambling which should serve to alleviate any fears of insecurity by skeptics. It eliminates the traveling costs, but still keeps the basic essence of a Las Vegas casino, but only now, in your very own home.
