Las Vegas is heaven when it comes to enjoying nightlife. From many features that lit Las Vegas nightlife making it dream visit for many worldwide, is Freemont Street Experience. Freemont Street Experience also called as FSE is a wide display in shape of a canopy at Freemont Street. Height of this canopy is 97 feet that is amazing 27 meters and approximately 1,500 feet which is 460 meters in length; making it highest and lengthiest canopy display anywhere in world.

Freemont Street has given many new startups since receiving casino license. History was good for FSE. There were huge casinos flourishing Freemont Street. Lots of activity would be seen on slots and other gambling businesses until early 1980s. 1980s begun a new era of big investors building up world class hotels and casinos along Strip. Massive structures dwarfed traditional casinos which once were dream casino houses worldwide. As time passed by Freemont Street saw revenue loss day by day.

To get traffic back, businessmen from Freemont Street initiated a $70 million project. This project involved building of Freemont Street canopy. This canopy was so successful that business started to get their initial traffic of players back. Today, 60% of total traffic in Las Vegas can be seen at Freemont Street. There are many casinos and art shows that come under this huge canopy.

A brightly lit canopy built with 12.5 million LEDs glaze the whole canopy with various color combinations. Within the canopy there are 220 speakers that create sound of 550,000 watts. Nightlife is full of lights and sounds. Light and sound shows are presented under the canopy from dusk to dawn. The effect of light and sound created during nightlife is enchanting.

Many visitors all across globe come only to experience Freemont Street Experience. Various art shows like Lucky Vegas, Smoke, Speed and Spinning Wheels, American Freedom and many more based on some theme to empower visitors with information about some events. These shows are so hit that players at any casino alter their game play time to witness one of the best nightlife creations on earth.

From Las Vegas, Nevadans and Utahans are protesting against the Las Vegas Water Grab and have made it clear once again that Las Vegas won’t take water from rural Nevada without struggle.

Millard County had filed protests with the Las Vegas, Nevada State Engineer regarding 19 individual well permit applications. More than 200 people and organizations have filed legal protests against the controversial Southern Nevada Water Authority plan in Las Vegas to pump and pipe groundwater from rural cave, dry lake, Delamar and Spring Valleys to Las Vegas City. Another 250 protesters signed on to the Great Basin Water Network’s protests and will be represented by GBWN’s attorneys. In all, the Nevada State Engineer received more than 950 protests of SNWA’s well permit applications in the four basins.

“When ranchers, tribes, local, state, and federal governments, regional and national conservation organizations, and rural and urban residents of Nevada and Utah all come together in protest of a project, you know the project deserves to be scrapped,” said Susan Lynn, Coordinator of the Great Basin Water Network, which led the protest outreach effort. “What’s more, Great Basin National Park lies partially within Spring Valley and it would be degraded by SNWA’s proposed development. This project just doesn’t make sense environmentally, financially, or hydro logically,” Lynn said. “There is no surplus water for Las Vegas to take.”

Protestants include the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; Nevada’s White Pine and Nye counties; California’s Inyo County; Utah’s Millard, Juab, and Salt Lake counties; the Goshute, Ely, Elko and Duckwater Shoshone Tribes; the Nevada Department of Wildlife; Nevada Farm Bureau; several Nevada towns and cities; and conservation groups including Defenders of Wildlife, Utah Audubon Council, the Center for Biological Diversity, the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada, and the Toiyabe Chapter of the Sierra Club. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Interior National Park Service and Fish and Wildlife Service also filed protests.

The new protests are the latest development in the complex, protracted and hotly contested battle against the multi-billion dollar pipeline project. The protests were in response to the re-publication of water applications originally filed back in 1989. The re-noticing was required by a Nevada Supreme Court ruling (Great Basin Water Network v. Taylor) that voided previous decisions by the Nevada State Engineer granting water rights to SNWA totaling 60,000 acre feet of water annually in Spring Valley and 19,000 afy in Cave, Dry Lake and Delamar Valleys.

SNWA is seeking 90,000 afy in Spring Valley and 30,000 afy in the other valleys. Protestants will have standing to argue their cases against the project in hearings before State Engineer Jason King beginning late September and concluding in mid November. A decision is expected in 2012. Applications for groundwater permits in Snake Valley, which straddles the Nevada-Utah border, will be re-published some time after King rules on the applications in these four valleys.

“Even though water applications in Snake Valley were not at issue, Utahns and their local government leaders were concerned enough about impacts on Utah to protest the Spring Valley applications,” GBWN Utah Coordinator Steve Erickson told in conversation. “Tens of thousands of acre feet of groundwater flows into Snake Valley from Spring Valley each year, so depleting the aquifer in Spring will draw down the aquifer in Snake Valley, and that’s unacceptable.” So we have to see that how long this protest is going to be there in the Sin City- Las Vegas and how Las Vegas authorities are going to deal with it.

Caesars Palace settled with Nevada regulators who accused the casino of failing to protect the game and its patrons, according to documents.

The high-stakes gambler cavorted on a baccarat table and placed bets while a game was in progress last October.

The state gaming control board said Caesars’ security should have stopped him from behaving in such a manner.

Over a 45-minute period during high-stakes gambling the patron “climbed onto the baccarat table from his chair, walked on his baccarat table and placed baccarat wagers before returning to stand on his chair and eventually sitting”, the regulators’ complaint read.

The unnamed gambler then proceeded to climb back on the table twice more, walking and dancing while up there, the state gaming control board said.

While the market continues to struggle, sin continues to be a hot ticket for investors. In fact, the ISE SINdex (SIN) has rallied steadily from its March 2009 low of 47.98 to gain more than 128%. What’s more, the index has closed only one month below the support of its 10-month moving average since April 2009. In this article, I take a closer look at three casino operators that are outperforming the broad market.

Las Vegas Sands ( LVS ) is the owner and operator of the Venetian Casino Resort, which it built over the ashes of the bulldozed Sands Hotel, and which brings a touch of Venice to the Las Vegas Strip. Replete with gondoliers and a replica of the Rialto Bridge, the Venetian offers a 120,000-square-foot casino and a 4,000-suite hotel, as well as a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex. Las Vegas Sands also operates the Palazzo Casino next door to the Venetian, and the nearby Sands Expo Center trade show and convention center. In addition to its Vegas holdings, the firm has a handful of properties in China through its Sands China subsidiary.

Technically speaking, the shares of LVS have put on a spectacular show, soaring more than 89% since the beginning of the year. The equity has marched steadily higher along the support of its 10-week and 20-week moving averages since April 2009. The security has also skipped higher along its 10-month trend line since July 2009.

Despite the company’s stellar technical performance, investors remain extremely skeptical of the shares. The International Securities Exchange (ISE) and Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) have reported a 10-day put/call volume ratio of 0.78 for the stock, which is higher than 98% of all those taken during the past year. In other words, puts have rarely been picked up at a faster pace than calls during the past 52 weeks.

In addition, the Schaeffer’s put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) for LVS comes in at 0.89. This ratio is higher than 82% of all those taken during the past year, indicating that short-term speculators have been more pessimistically aligned toward the shares only 18% of the time during the past 12 months.

Meanwhile, the bears are beginning to slowly unwind their short positions. During the past month, the number of LVS shares sold short dropped by 1% to 44 million. This accumulation of bearish bets accounts for more than 14% of the company’s total float. Should the stock continue to rally, it could squeeze the bears into unloading their pessimistic positions, creating a fresh wave of buying pressure for the security.

Memories from glory days where huge Heavyweight Championship fights brought out the Hollywood stars to the parking lot at Caesar’s Palace to watch George Foreman and Mike Tyson, continue to tantalize and entice Boxing fans all over the world. The excitement of Boxing in Las Vegas continues on at many locations along the famous strip, heightened by the ability to place bets at all the major casinos on fight night.
Las Vegas is often referred to as the “entertainment capital of the world”. Generally thought of as a glitzy city with lots of kitsch, you may be surprised to learn that Las Vegas has an artsy side. For the artistic soul, you can find a plethora of art galleries, museums and some Las Vegas Museum and art shows.

The Las Vegas Museum of Art is the best place to start when looking for fine art. Founded in 1950, this Las Vegas museum focuses on contemporary art and engaging visitors with the culture of fine art. They have an annual Art roundup awards ceremony in July. For those looking for Vegas art shows, this is the place to find the best Las Vegas museum and fine art shows.
The new Guggenheim Hermitage Museum is in a state of the art gallery where you can find the works of the masters from the treasures of the Guggenheim and Hermitage museums collections. Past exhibits have included the works of Rubens, treasures from ancient Egypt, Picasso and many others. This is one of the top five places to catch Vegas art shows. Admission is $14.50, a bargain in most art circles.

There are also several art galleries where you can find Las Vegas art shows, including the Bellagio Art Gallery at the luxurious Bellagio Casino and Resort Hotel on the strip. One of the finer Las Vegas art shows, you can usually find a master’s work on display here. It’s $15 for admission, but well worth the price to see works like Monet or Picasso. The exhibition changes, so call in advance to see which master is on display at this Vegas Art show.

Other smaller galleries have interesting and lesser known artists on display. These Las Vegas art shows are not a collection of the masters, but worth a look nonetheless. The George L. Sturman Museum of Fine Art houses contemporary artwork from many famous artists including Salvador Dali, Robert De Niro, and Henri Matisse, as well as an extensive collection of animation cels and comic strip art, African art and American art. There are several other Vegas art shows at small galleries including a collection of modern photography works at Bassett Studios, the 8000 foot Art Encounter gallery, or the Art de Vignettes which has art jewelry, mosaic glass and glass sculpture.

For the kids to see Las Vegas Museum and art shows you will probably have to stick to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum with their dinosaur and marine life exhibits. Another fun Museum is the Liberace Museum shaped like a piano and full of all the garish extravagance you expect from Las Vegas. There is the collection of Liberace’s pianos, famous glittering wardrobe and his car collection. Although its not fine art, it’s an excellent Museum for the children, who if under 10, get in free. There is even the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum where kids can visit the Desert Discovery exhibition and build a cactus or find out what it’s like to lie in the desert at night!

The list of Las Vegas shows goes on and on but the Las Vegas art shows are an experience not to miss. Although Las Vegas Museum and Art shows are few and far between in the city of glitz, you can still find something to entertain the true art lover in Sin City.
